In Canberra (ACT), fare rates for taxis are regulated by the ACT Government via the Road Transport (Public Passenger Services) Act 2001 (ACT) and its subordinate legislation.
Fare rates for New South Wales (NSW) regions are regulated by the NSW Government via the Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2016 (NSW).
All ACT Cabs taxis have an approved taxi meter installed for the purpose of calculating approved taxi fare rates.
Your driver must engage the taxi meter at the start of each hiring, until the hiring has completed. If the taxi meter was not engaged during your hiring, please report the matter to ACT Cabs.
